If you go to San Jose you must stop by and see it. It's on loan to the computer museum until its owner decides to take it home. A partial model was built originally and survives today. Both full scale difference engines were built from original plans to original tolerances in the last 20 years. The real mechanical computer, the analytical engine, has yet to be built and it uses loom style punch cards.
I love the sound the straight six makes turning over with the plugs out. This is different, but has a similar cadence and truly sounds musical.
