I guess it depends on what your used to. I have zero experience mounting the lock rings so if I had to patch a tire off road I would be out of luck. On the other hand I always mount my own off road rig tires so I am confortable making a patch if necessary in the field. It is my understanding the lock rings and tubes may make it easier to repair a flat I just have never done it.
