Im a little ways off from this part of the project but its always good to have a plan and the more time to dial in the plan, the better the outcome... usually. Or I over-think it.

So, for this WC-53 that I am re-powering; my plans for the rear suspension are simple in that I am going to keep the factory hangers and just have a new set of springs made that fit my ride height specifications and may be a little bit softer since the truck won't be seeing as heavy of service as it was originally built for. What I noticed the other evening when I had pulled the pins out of the rear is that the hanger pins are worn out pretty badly (the hangers are good and tight still) and the shackles are wallowed out pretty decent... ie what was a 3/4" dia hole is now oblonged out to about 13/16" in one direction and about 15/16" in the vertical direction...

So here is my question... Has anyone ever heard of folks line boring the shackle out to like 1" dia and pressing a bronze bushing in and then simply replacing the hinge pins with new ones? I know that I've seen a pin kit from John at MWM, or thought that I had... Are NOS rear shackles hard to find? I haven't looked.
