Sounds like a fun bomber...just that I've never seen it done that way & still look good. I mean it's less work to do but your biggest obstacle is the electronics needed to run a 24 valve without butchering the interior with the modern gauges & even worse...a modern steering column. Engineering that engine & tranny to run in a truck that still looks like 1959 inside is a lot of work.
It would be so much easier of a conversion if your truck was a 98 12 valve. Personally I'd fit a 12v with an NV4500 or maybe a G56 6 speed in your 59 frame. It practically bolts right in. Lots of intercooler obstacles etc but it's been done.
Post pictures...I'd love to see what you do with it.
My advice? Find a way to leave the dash, column & complete interior stock & you'll have an end product that was worth all the work.
