I always wondered about the specs for grease in the front knuckles. I realize that oil is always more inclined to leak out than grease, but I hadn't thought about the aspect of always being ready, even after sitting for months/years. I recently filled my front knuckles with John Deere corn head grease, and have had no leakage problems. My favorite is EZ Flow Lithium grease, which is similar to corn head, but flows a little better. I use it in winches, steering gears, closed knuckles, and even transfer cases. But it's almost impossible to find it any more. It definitely doesn't leak out.
