OK white stuff is old brake fluid and water. it corrodes and turns like that. All my truck has dot 4 fluid. I flush the system every 2 years and all is good. BUT most folks dont ever do that. So regular brake fluid goes bad. It likes to attract water. You will get 8 different answers so good luck. Bill.
