I called two major cable suppliers close to me, Idaho Rigging and Broadway Splicing (Spokane), looking for a price on 7/16" fiber core cable. I was told by both that they stock and sell nothing but steel core. One guy could order it for me ($1.06/ft.), which is what I will probably do, unless I find a better price soon. I guess most of their customers must be loggers and excavators who use the steel core on their equipment because it doesn't seem to care if it's crossed over or piled on one side under a load. I just thought it was odd that they both acted like fiber core cable was something Ally Oop might have used, swinging through the trees.
