Hey, it's free. If you have the space to store it and you are there with a trailer, get it unless it's sunk three feet into the mud or is difficult to get.

Someone is bound to need some parts off it, if there is anything good on it. But, be careful, most of the parts are not worth as much as they might seem. Complete axles are an example. They are not worth nearly as much as you might expect. Almost not worth hauling home.

Look for signs that the truck may have 4.89 differentials. Most do not. But, if the truck has 7.50 size tires on it, it may. A winch alone is worth hauling the truck home. Also things like the sought after rear PTO or the mechanical engine governor are a real find. So are the rear shock absorber setups.

Good doors or windshield frame also make the truck worth hauling home. A seat frame alone is a nice find, and a bed, in just about any shape makes a truck worth something.

But, nine times out of ten, these trucks tend to be just a rusted out, incomplete old hulk.

I guess what I'm saying is that it takes a little experience to know if a truck is worth hauling home, even for free. But, good luck on yours.
