I hope it's not "free" because your friend who's doing the advance work for you saw it there with nobody around and just assumed it doesn't belong to anybody any more. I once had a guy tell me about an FFPW up in the hills here that he was sure didn't belong to anybody and was just abandoned and I should go up and get. I happened to know the truck and had seen it in several different places over the course of a few months, and it definitely was derivable even though it had a gas tank strapped to the top of the cab and one front wheel on backwards. Salvage without permission is theft even if it looks like it doesn't belong to anybody.
