When you apply the polyester filler, don't apply much & practice getting nice even coats with a wide spreader. When you sand, especially on large flats, do not apply heavy pressure & only sand with a long board. I prefer to use a long board with stik on paper & very light pressure. Let the sand paper do the work & use lots of it. A good piece of sand paper is only going to be useable for a few minutes of sanding. The more pressure you apply the more the metal flexes which basically renders the sanding board a waste of time.
