Selling my 5 year project - 1949 FFPW with 1953 Chrysler 265 Spitfire engine. Over $15,000 invested.
The good:
Brake system rebuilt - but it's still Power Wagon brakes!
Seat rebuilt and recovered in heavy vinyl
New powder coated floorboards and running boards
Rewired - 12 volts
Michelin XZLs
New head gasket, electronic ignition, new distributor, new carb, new plugs and wires
Recored radiator rebuilt
Period heater/defrost unit - not the original equipment (see pictures)
New alternator
New electric wiper motors
All body repairs done with metal - amateur paint job with Ford tractor red and Rustoleum black fenders
New headliner, dome light, steering wheel, turn signals, brake light switch
Spare 251 engine with all synchro trans - rebuilt and running 20,000# Tulsa PTO winch mounted behind cab
The bad:
Gas gauge and ammeter not working
Speedometer drive not working - rebuilt speedometer and new cable but no luck
Non original gas tank mounted by previous owner (I have a relined original but no sending unit or pickup tube)
The truck is solid, but not finished - I've run out of energy.
Not perfect, but not $40,000 either.
Asking $14,000 to include lots of spare parts, and extra rebuilt engine/trans/pto.
