Hey Tim, it depends on which coil you purchased. If it was the 3 ohm, 40,000 volt, with a built in resistor, you'll be ok.
So, I was told last week when I purchased one. I called Pertronix tech support with that exact question and was told I could run the points and condenser setup with that coil without burning up the points.
