Yep, that's the time to find out more work is needed. Not, when the truck is painted and sitting out in the sun for the first time.
The shiny spot in the upper left is interesting. It shows how the metal can ripple out from the impact point like a rock thrown into the water.
You need to tap up the ring (the low part) while pushing down on the high spot. The tendency is to want to hammer down the high spot. But, you are probably up to speed on that already. If not, you will be.
You will probably have to go with the surfacer then sand procedures several times. That's normal.
