As a boy, growing up in Laguna Beach in the '50s, my dad drove De Sotos. I had an older brother, who at that time, I thought was really cool. He was into Fords and I followed until about 20 years ago when I got into Dodges. I have always admired the true Power Wagons, but there weren't any in Laguna in those days, as I'm sure there aren't now. My dad did have an old "Army" truck for a while, but I don't even remember what make or year it was. Actually in those days surfing and diving for lobster and abalone occupied more of my time than cars and trucks.
