For those of you who had the great fortune to have a true craftsmen Like Ray do your disk brake conversion ring setup to your hub or ones that you bought from his stock, you really need to thank him again!!!
Heres why, I'm now on the third trip to the machine shop and a little over $600. dollars later I'm finally able to dry fit my setup,
See I was stupid and didn't listen to Paul form NY and wait, spend the money for the disk set up back when I was doing the restoration to my WC, i took for granted that the kit would be available for a long time, right!
Now don't get me wrong, Ray was awesome to deal with and very very helpful with all technical aspects from set up to weld etc… even going as far as to send the set up pictures and a copy of his spec sheet, and how to properly do the back yard set up measurement for spacing for flange for the machinist, I went to a very repitable highly reguarded machine shop around here and spoke to the machinist and thinking he fully understood what was to be done I still needed to return to the shop on 2 other occasions for set up, Honestly I think it was timing they were really busy and I think I kept getting put on the back burner, and thing went a rye.
I get the hubs back and they look great bolt everything together go to install the caliper an it simply will not fit, back to the shop get spacers made in graduating sizes to get things in line with the calipers.
now that we have found the correct size I now need a .149 spacer plate made and I have to of with a slightly longer socket bolt to make up for the difference.
My point is Ray put out a superior product and is a true craftsman I was happy to spend what I did with him and would again.
Thank you Ray You Da man!!!
