My fire dept is like any other in the country, we are facing budget cuts, dealing with aging fire equipment and less staffing to do the same job. If anyone has any doubt about what budget cuts and less staffing and aging equipment can do, please take an hour and watch this documentary on the Detroit Fire Dept. I just did and parts of it brought tears to my eyes. I hope my department never gets this bad, but considering its the State of California, I wouldn't rule it out. Unfortunately, if the budget cuts continue, things like Boston, Houston and many other situations like that will continue to happen. Not that those were staffing problems, I don't know whats happening in their depts, but smaller staffs will push those of us there to do more
