If we're going for any engine things get interesting. I think one of the new Cummins V8's with either a 6-speed manual or auto would be interesting.
A set of custom aftermarket axles in whatever flavor suits your needs and then maybe have a custom set of hubs built so they would still use the stock BUDD lug pattern.
Of course that's if I was dreaming and money were no object, but hey you asked.
