A friend gave me one ten years ago. My current daily driver may be it's 5th recipient.
It's good for 1,000#, which I have met with a piece of machinery on a hand truck.
Mine is like the big trucks have, mounts underneath, so not good for off road. But there are many that replace the stock tailgate. If I had one of those, I would add a folding section so it is big enough for a pallet jack.
So far as cranes go, I sure do like the bomb truck type thing wiht winch on a dolly. Hoist it up, roll it in, lower it down. Also can work in conjunction with a tow sling for use as a tow truck.
