Tool for removing seal: Take a piece of rectangular steel slightly longer than the diameter of the axle tube. Make an elongated hole in the piece of steel so that when you place a long bolt through it, the steel can lay over at an angle. It also helps to round the corners of the steel piece.
Push the bolt and piece of steel into the axle tube past the seal and pull back so the steel stands up and grabs the bushing. Put a nut and large washer on the end of the long bolt. Tighten to pull out the seal.
You can also use a hook on the end of a slide hammer to grab the seal and pull it out.
Harbor freight has a nice set of pullers for a good price.
