I would assume so.
I just talked with the auto electric guy who replaced my alternator a couple of years ago. He put in a larger alternator because I was having trouble with the original one not keeping up with the heat, lights, and pump for the snow plow. He said I would be better off bypassing the amp gauge and putting a volt meter. I think I will follow his suggestion.
