AS far as I see it there are a couple of options to try, First of have you tried giving the end of the pins a light centerpunch and attempting a drilled hole?, you never know what steel they used in the Taiwan of 1980...
If you are successful in drilling a small hole (like 1/8") through the pin, bolt the apron back up to the carriage and pack the hole with grease, then use a straight punch to hydraulically lift the pin from the bore.
kind of like the old clutch pilot bearing trick.

another possible way to remove the pins would be to make a tool out of thin strong steel, perhaps an old kitchen knife or something, then cut a notch in the end that will just fit on the absolute thinnest end of the pin that you can get to through the gap, drive the tool on there to grip the pin and lift the apron up to close the gap and ( hopefully) lift the pin... good luck
