They're listed in the parts book as tapered pins (metric), and they've both loose in the lower part when I pry them apart a bit. I'm trying to get the end block out by bending the lead screw and all the other rods, but it's going to have to bend a lot to clear everything, and I sure don't want to bend it permanently. I've run the carriage all the way to the headstock end and opened up the lead screw nut to get as much flex as I can.

It's one of those projects that grows. If the machine hadn't gotten rusty sitting in the back of my truck under tarps for 2 winters, I probably would have just changed the oil and gone with it like it is, but now that I've got it half way apart, I'd really like to get it cleaned up good. Nothing seems badly worn, so I think it will be a good lathe when I get done with it.
