Once in a while, someone gets what they think is a good idea. To cut costs, Filter manufacturers thought they would just make one filter to replace all the different sizes they were making of the sock filter, so they did. All manufactures did it. I’ve got 20 Hastings filters for the 230 and my last oil change I struggled like heck to jam the filter into the container. Yes it can be done, and you almost have to stand on the filter to do it. I guess I’m going to have to compare Hastings with an original Dodge sock filter I have to see if it is std. before I use it. The issue was raised with WIX on the 51011 filter, not sure if they corrected it. You if you do get one of the larger ones, it will work, but you do have to force it in.
