Hi all,
So I can't get it to run. My 230 has new rings, pistons, and rod bearings and wires. It was running just before I broke it. When I crank it does fire - pu-pu-pu-puff but it will not run on it's own. Based on the smoke in the garage, there is combustion going on but it won't sustain itself.
I have been fiddling and reading, and thus far this is what I have done:
* Two batteries (one for the starter, one for the coil) to (hopefully) ensure good spark
* Verified spark on all 6 wires (visually confirming that a plug fires on each wire)
* Verified order of the wires on the distributor/plugs
* Verified that the rotor is pointing at #1 when it is in compression (based on my finger being blow out of the plug hole).
* Checked the compression on #1 cylinder, this was about 150psi (I didn't check the others)
I am not sure where else to go. I think that tomorrow I should check the other cylinders for pressure and then play with the distributor timing, moving it out to extremes.
I would appreciate any additional thoughts and recommendations.
Thanks,
don
