The first few seals I replaced came out with out a fight. Then after using the caveman method on a few. I made a ring with a step on it for my puller jaws to catch on. I tack weld the ring to the face of the seal. Like Bob I push off pinion with the main screw. Cut the tacks off and reuse the ring.
