The best I ever saw was an early 70's Ford hi-boy that was painted a semigloss grey. It had a yellow stripe down each side that filled the indent that traveled front to back, all along the sides of Ford trucks from that era. The wheels, bumpers, and all the chrome was blacked out. On the hood was painted the stars and bars as if a flag was draped across the hood and turned 45 degrees with one corner falling over each front fender. The painting was done to make the flag look kind of wrinkled, shrunk in places, stretched in others, and with torn holes here an there where the grey could show through. It really looked like a real flag. The yellow stripe set the truck off too as it looked like the shoulder stripes you might find on a uniform.

Not sure how this would work on a WDX-WM300 style Power-Wagon. Maybe a grey truck with black fenders and running boards with a yellow stripe between the body lines on the doors just below the windows. Drape the flag corners down onto the fenders.

In my opinion, this would look better than an orange and black General Lee knockoff.
