Hey Clark,
I have not been able to track the details of your brake project so please forgive me if i ask stupid questions. I have not gotten to the brakes and hubs on my PW yet.

I am not sure what the lock ring is for? is that to keep the seal from backing out?
when i have done this kind of work (on other vehicles) the seal on the inside of the hub just got pressed in and the only critical thing was that it lined up with a smooth part of the spindle.

Then the spindle usually had a slightly smaller diameter area for the bearing to rest against, (sort of a shoulder) that all got held in place by the rest of the bearing set and the spindle nut.
So space between the bearing and the seal was not an issue.

The only time i have seen a lock ring used is on the outside of the hub, which was there to keep the backer ring in place which the outer hub lock screws to.

forgive me if i am totally off base. : )
