I lived in Buffalo at that time. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our house was about 4 blocks from the "Niagara Section" of the freeway, that they mention in that video.
I had a 74 Dodge Ramcharger. It took me two days to dig it out and clean a path down my driveway. Even then, I could not go anywhere, the drifts were too deep for it to plow through. As I recall, we were home from work for around 7 or 8 days after that storm.
