Recently my Power Wagon (318 Poly, NP435 with hydraulic clutch) has been difficult to get into first (or reverse) after sitting. I have been able to pump up the pedal a few times and it would start to work and be fine until the next time I used it, or maybe it would be fine then but not the next. Pretty erratic. I went to plow with it tonight and no amount of excercising the pedal would allow me to shift into first. Plenty of fluid in the master cylinder.
I have done absolutely no troubleshooting on it other than to check the fluid level. I will try bleeding the slave, but failing that, how do you know if the slave or the master is bad, short of rolling the dice and buying the cheaper of the two and keeping the fingers crossed?
