If it had half-ton wheels it's probably an ordinary half ton with transplanted sheet metal. You say it looks civilian - because it has cowl lights maybe ?
Sticking a civilian hard cab with cowl lights onto an open cab weapons carrier was quite common - only the army liked open cabs.
The image is my VC 3 when I got it - looks a little better now.
