Dave Cirillo and I just finished a customers '47 WDX. 318 V8, NP435 with Chelsea PTO, 4 wheel power disc brakes, PS, hanging pedals, 38.5" tires with 4.89s and centered rear differential. It was requested that I drive it down to Yreka CA. to meet him at his inlaws place and he would drive it from there to San Fran. Had my son follow me there. When we arrived I asked him how fast I was going, answer was 65-80 mph. This included a 9 mile 6% grade. It ran so smooth and quiet I thought I was doing 65 mph tops (although I must admit no one was passing me)! Think I'll put a Dana 70 rear axle under mine when I do it, should be able to handle the higher speed than the original axle. Probably should get a radar detector and life insurance as well!
