On road - duals obviously have an advantage when hauling, giving more security if a blow out were to occur while pulling a load. Duals usually have a higher GVW than singles.

Off road - dual wheels can be a pain, often requires the dislodging of rocks which become wedged between the tires. When following a rutted out trail, the front tires will go into the rut, while the rear will stay above the rut, causing the nose of the truck to stay down, enabling the truck to get stuck easier, and making it harder to steer. The duals will provide better traction in some circumstances.

Unless you have special wheels made for the duals, you are limited to tire size.

With all this in mind, I still plan on making a rim which will permit the dualing of 11.00 x 16.0 Michelins to run on a W300.
