The HD-1 is an awesome plane (Spruce Goose). It was displayed here at it's original flight locat1on for many years, if you have a chance to see it, go! Interesting thing about those old wooden blimp hangers, all seem to bill themselves as "The Worlds" largest. They were all built to the same gov. specs and nearly identical. We have two near me in Tustin CA, they are on the National Register of Historic Places and now hold 22 Marine helicopters each. And interestingly enough they claim to be the 'world's largest' also. I imagine it is a tie because they are BIG enough!
Now to fly a B-17 through those hangers,...that would be a thrill!!
