McMinneville, Oregon, about 30 minutes SW of Portland on Hwy 18, has just opened up the Spruce Goose to the public. They also have other planes on display.

Tillamook, Oregon, 90 minutes west of Portland on Hwy 6, has a WWII blimp hanger stuffed full of aircraft. WWI, WWII, Korean War and Vietnam aircraft are there, along with civilian and Warsaw Pact. The hanger itself is interesting. It's the world's largest free standing wooden structure.
