Keeping in mind that we're only discussing a difference of opinions (lets don't get personal), If you need to pump a required amount of fluid(air or water) it's gonna take the same power to do it whether you use an electric or belt drive pump. Now , if Dodge is using an oversize pump(I doubt it, with all the money they spend on engineering), then downsizing it would help. My spray booth has a fan about like my power wagon, it runs on a 1/2 hp.electric motor.Your logic seems to be based on 1)perpetual motion (there is free energy!) and 2) sales literature from the electric-bolt-on-speed equipment industry.

Any way, thanks for the mental stimulation, it's what the net is for!
