Because it wasn't directly stated "NO RUST" or "RUST-FREE". People leave windows down, get stuck in creeks, and just because they don't salt roads in the winter now, only means they stopped salting the roads like they used to do when I lived in Norther California in the last century. Most fire trucks on the other hand, as proven by those that have been shown for sale on the photos classified were very well-maintained and many were kept in covered parking and for the most part, they weren't beat to hell. From the picture presented its difficult to tell, but I will take Jim Veen's word that its better than the photo looks. I hate rust. Here in Texas, we invented rust. Never buy any car, truck, or bus that ever lived near Galveston or Houston. My power wagon has to sleep in a dehumidified, air-conditioned garage to avoid this tendency. (and my wife's suburban sleeps outside)
