What vehicle do you have!
WC's(3/4ton),M-37's and Powerwagons (WDX style W/14"drums ) should take the same (stepped) wheel cyls. W-series PW's and 1/2ton WC's take different cyls. I'm told the stepped bores were to compensate for kinetic energy as when you went to stop the vehicle it was thought (at the time) that it took more pressure to expand the rear shoe do to the forward motion of the vehicle. This thinking was done away with on later vehicles ( just like lefthanded lug nuts on light trucks and cars). So maybe the supplier just crossed you to a more modern cyl????
