Flathead 8s

Anyone know why the mopar flathead 8 was never offered in the trucks ? They were in production from I believe 1946 onward for the big Chrysler passenger cars. Anyone know of any prototypes ( a long nose PW ?) made. Just seems it would have been a logical step for them to try.
