I'm thinking so too. I have one of those Airtex 587 pumps on hand. The one the Dodge Boys sent worked good on the M37, so I bought a spare. I'm concerned that the fuel bowl sticks far out, though and will get hit by snow and bushes. I'm going to hold it up and see.

Meanwhile, I dropped one of the carb top screws in the snow, which I knew would happen eventually with how many times I was taking it on and off. Those old Carter carbs use 12-28 screws, which nobody else in the history of screwing has ever used for anything else, even though they are theoretically on the UNF thread standard.
