Hey guys, i hope your week is going well so far. Recently i got in my truck and fired it up. I noticed that the smb gage showed a slight discharge then i would turn the headlights on and it would discharge further. I don't think its a short. Its pretty obvious that its not charging to me at least...I replaced the voltage regulator thinking that is what it was since it was still under warranty. In the past it had done the same thing...i replaced the voltage regulator which fixed it. Anyway that is not what it was. I also followed the diagram and looked for possible problems, loose wires etc...Also my alternator has to field tabs. I set one to ground as the electrical shop instructed me and worked in the past. Besides the alternator being bad what else could cause this in your opinion? The alternator is only about 8 months old but i do intend to get it tested.
