Starter Rebuild

I'm rebuilding my starter and I'd like to re-wrap the field coils since the existing tape isn't in great shape. Anybody know where I can get some cloth tape to do the job? I was thinking of using fraction tape, but it's sticky and I thought that might just attract dirt, etc.
