It sounds like the free market is working. US manufacturers quit when their machines wore out. That's exactly what you get with Harvard MBA management. A new machine would cut into this quarter's profits, so just keep making what the machines can still make until all the machines are worn out. "No investment" equals "max profit". Until you can't make anything, and then you have no company. But before then, the MBAs are retired or moved on to some other company.
There's absolutely no reason we should need to import anything made by automated machinery from China. Wages are nothing in the cost of a bolt. Some guy with a forklift puts a roll of wire onto one end of the machine, and bolts come out the other end. Glad to see some companies are wising up. Maybe there's hope.
