i have never broke one and i have put a 47wdx and a 67wm to some serious abuse but i was always taking it easy cuz we were way overloaded in the woods and i did not want to break anything
but john minyard the pw mechanic of my day broke his short one the first day he took out of his driveway in his m37 with a hoped up 256 np 540 and 1100 s
i still think the eight in. thicker and better metal and stock splines on both ends would do the trick but there is only one way to find out
