Sounds just like the old bogus cashier's check scam, except I'm not sure how it can be bogus when it goes through paypal. Maybe after you've paid the "transporter", he then claims paypal you reneged on the deal and demands a refund of everything he paid you? And then paypal refunds him, plus expects you to make good on what you paid to the "transporter"? I would want to get something very clear in writing from PayPal, including the "what ifs" before going any further with this.

There was a time when I kept getting requests from various people in Africa wanting to buy product to ship to their "store". I would always reply that I would be happy to fill their order but due to some recent problems with international money transfers, I'm sure he can understand that payment in gold coin of reputable mint must be received at our main office before anything can be shipped. I would never hear from them again after that.

Try telling him you need payment in gold (or bitcoin) I bet that's the last you hear of him.
