Kevin that is a nasty one. We have a number of them in our yard and yes they will go through tires, shoes, kids toys etc. I had the front tires of my lawn mower filled with foam due to constant flat tires. If I cut them all down I won't have much left with losing 6 ash due to the ash borer. The seed pods where something else this fall too. They say black locust make excellent fence post since they don't rot. Wouldn't want to harvest them.
