I will be curious what the other guys say. Ebay is all biased towards the buyer these days (trying to compete with Amazon). Did ebay already refund the money to the guy? They will suck it out of your bank account via paypal if possible. If it was a lot of money, I would get all my money out of paypal right away, and if there's a bank account attached, disconnect it or close the paypal account.

I have never had trouble on ebay with old truck guys, but I've had quite a bit of trouble with the antique/collectibles people. I stumbled on some valuable playing cards once and sold one pack to a guy in France who claimed they "didn't shuffle right" and another to a guy in Australia who claimed I had stolen his money when he didn't get them instantly.

On the buying end, I've had two "antique" people ship me stuff with horrible packaging. One was heavy vacuum tube volt meter that was just thrown loose in a big box with no padding, and then he reamed me with crazy feedback when I left him neutral feedback for his back packaging and for not responding to my complaint. That was back when sellers could leave feedback. The other one was an old assortment of cotter pins and lock washers that I bought from some antique lady who didn't bother to tape the lid shut before she threw it in a bigger box, so when I got them, they had all fallen out and gotten scrambled up.

I recently got an "item not received" case opened against me by some Russian guy who bought some of my light bulbs and I guess thought he should have gotten them in 3 days and didn't want to ask me where they were before opening the case. Usually I mail the light bulbs in a manilla envelope by first class mail without a tracking number in order to save my customers as much money as possible, but this guy bought enough that I put them in a box and priority mail was almost the same as first class mail, so I got a tracking number. It turns out the were delivered hours after he opened the case against me, but I was sure glad I had that number, because I had to pester him a week later to get him to close it. Of course I also blocked him as a bidder. People who are looking for trouble like that aren't worth dealing with.

I think all you can do is follow the ebay process and document what happened with this Harley guy, and probably ultimately try to get a real person at ebay to see it your way. Long ago I actually got through to someone helpful at this number, (408)558-7400, so you might try it. But the way it goes with ebay, you're most likely out the money for the radio. It sucks, but some people are just jerks. If you know a good witch or brujo, maybe you can get them to put a hex on him and his bike and your radio. That would be some satisfaction. Hex the radio he sent you, put some spooky stuff in with it, and send it back to him. Maybe he's superstitious and it will really freak him out. I don't suppose he's around here, but if he is, I could go talk to him.
