Baking enamel paint ?

Did some reading on the subject. I have a hard time leaving enamel paints. Most of the olive drabs are still enamel.
Hard to find hardners and enamel reducers.
Auto paint store guys look at you crossed eyed.
Got my headlight buckets painted so I thought that I would try baking. Stuck them in an old oven at 300 degrees for 30 minutes.
Then I stuck a repainted M3 Flak helmet in for about 25 minutes for 250 degrees.
AT THE FRONT says that they bake all of their refurbished helmets.
Any further suggestions ? ?
