I use the moly assembly lube on pretty much everything except pistons and rings. using just oil only works if your going to be starting it that day. if the engine sits around all the oil drips off into the pan. now days many people install the pistons in dry. i have never tried it that way. I have found the moly lube to be the best and it doesnt attract dirt. I was working in a shop where they insisted on useing one of the realy thick motor honey oils for assembley. it was terrible. attracted dirt like an electro magnet.
