50/50 mixture of 30W and STP makes a very good lubricator on assembly. If your using this mixture, no need to prime the pump as you would be able to crank it for quit sometime before hearing any squealing. Pure a little gas down the carb for a quick startup.
No oil on the compression ring/lands of the piston. Oil can cause the rings to stick reducing their effectiveness. The mixture above will lubricate sides of compression rings when installing piston in cylinder. Lube piston pins and all moving parts except valve stems/guides to prevent valves from sticking.
