You might check the West Marine catalog. I seem to remember that you used to be able to get rounds for these flare guns from them.
When I think about flare guns, I always remember the movie (movies?) where the good guy finally saves the day by shooting the bad guy in the chest with a flare gun.
Flare guns are sometimes called "Very Pistols" after the originator of that type of flare gun.
